October DEAR/Silent Reading Daily Writing Prompts/Journal & Choice Board
This resource is designed for grade 3 although is perfect for any student within grades 2-4 (depending on their reading level). I usually put aside 20 minutes a day to do these with my class, rotating through independent reading, group reading, partner reading, and class read-a-loud (following along with a highlighter, learning to answer reading comprehension questions properly).
This is a simple and well-designed resource that comes with 10 fiction and 10 non-fiction reading passages, paired with comprehension questions best suited for grade 3. All reading passages have beautiful pictures to enhance student understanding of the text.
This resource is a great way to create deeper understanding and connections after reading, increase written output, retain more information about a text, and improve writing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
This resource has a printable PDF version, digital version, and an editable powerpoint version for teachers to tweak the content for their specific class.
This October reading comprehension resource can be used in class or sent home to be completed as home reading.
This is a low-prep resource. Once you purchase & download this PDF file use the Table of Contents on page 2 to simply print what you need when you need it.
